How to Create Successful YouTube Content

We recently shared some powerful statistics with you that make video marketing difficult to pass up. Whether searching for an instructional “how to” video or the latest product reviews, YouTube has become a popular Internet destination for consumers, attracting more than 800 million unique users each month. This popular social media site is gaining so much traction among small-to-medium sized businesses that more than 100 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube every minute!

While it’s clear that YouTube is booming, how can you create content that will captivate your audience and keep them coming back for more? Hubspot shares some useful tips for how to succeed using YouTube:

  1. Plan to create a series of videos versus one single video. Think about some of the more successful movie trilogies out there, such as Back to the Future and Twilight. While there is no need to make such an in depth series, creating “to be continued” video content for your target audience that will encourage them to tune into the latest addition of your series is key to the longevity of the marketing channel.
  2. Be consistent with your posting schedule. If you plan to upload a new video every Tuesday night, stick to your schedule. People by nature are creatures of habit, and keeping a regular schedule will help to grow your audience on YouTube.
  3. Place emphasis on meta data. This is how your target audience will find you, and focusing on using the right tags and information can help your content to be found more easily.
  4. Become well versed with the YouTube Creator Playbook. This playbook is free for all YouTube users to access and can provide you with some helpful strategies for social media optimization. This tool can most definitely help your business take its YouTube channel to the next level.

The time to create video for your company or clients is now.  Never has it been cheaper or easier to produce professional-like videos that you can use to power your content and social media marketing strategies.  To learn more about video marketing, you should also check out our recent post about Twitter’s Vine video app.
